If you’re planning on picking up the new Mac then you can’t go wrong with Obduction. “While Obduction does have some issues, the fault for them rests less on Cyan as a studio. Obduction for Mac OS is available in.dmg format, which is supposed to be the easiest to use and the most known type of files for Macintosh. Finding your way home is the main quest of Obduction Mac OS X. Solve puzzels, find hidden keys and explore the alien planet on which you are trapped. This game is played in first-person view, with elements which can be analysed in full screen.

On August 24, 2016, Cyan (or Cyan Worlds) released a Windows version of their new 'Obduction' video game. They simultaneously issued a pre-release version for the Mac, but only as a 'beta' for backers of their Kickstarter project. The Windows version runs well on modern systems; my history with the Mac version has been disappointing, not because of the quality of the game, which is very high, but because it simply crashes way too often to make playing it a satisfying experience. The minimum Mac OS 'System Requirement' originally published by Cyan for the beta was Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Apple's new 'Metal' API introduced with El Capitan was apparently not ready for prime time, and 'Mac' backers like me had much trouble with crashes, weird colors, and severe video and audio stuttering. More recently, Cyan has stated that in the future they will only 'support' Obduction for Mac users running Mac OS Sierra. I updated both of my Hacks to Mac OS 10.12.1, but the same problems with the game remain.
In all cases, the crashes are followed by an Unreal Engine (UE4) 'Crash Report,' which lists the program steps up to and including the failure. Most of these listings include 'MTL Command Buffer' or 'General Platform' errors. Cyan has even more recently stated that in order for the game to run properly on Macs, the Apple API will have to be updated (by Apple, of course). Hopefully that will happen in the near future, but who knows?
I have two Mini-ITX Hackintoshes, a Haswell and a Skylake. The Skylake is my primary, but both are good medium-level performers. The Skylake uses a MSI nVidia GTX 750 Ti (low profile card), and the Haswell runs a EVGA GT740. I don't believe either is too slow for the game; playing it on either computer looks the same in the game's 'Epic' (highest) quality, and both exhibit about the same frequency of crashes with the same error messages.
Is anyone else playing this game (or trying to) on a Hackintosh build?

After months of glitchy pre-release Mac versions, the final version runs smoothly on a late 2012 Mac mini, albeit at the lowest settings. Obduction’s artistic triumphs made up for its.

About Obduction
Ob`duc´tion, n.1. The act of drawing or laying over, as a covering.

Obduction is a first-person adventure game developed and published by Cyan, Inc., the creators of the Myst series of video games. It is, first and foremost, a puzzle-solving game, though a rich story is told through both the puzzles and the environment. You play the game as yourself, rather than taking on the role of an established character. Upon being abducted by a strange flying 'seed', you explore your new environment in an attempt to learn more about the nature of your abduction and how you might return home.

Obduction is currently on Version 1.7.0 and is available for PC, Mac, and PlayStation 4. VR versions run on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PSVR.
